Tomando en cuenta que las estadísticas del cáncer gástrico en la población guatemalteca han demostrado un aumento en los últimos años y que la prevalencia de la infección por Helicobacter pylori reportada es del 65%, se consideró importante analizar sus características y la relación con la bacteria.
