Caracterización de las microfinanzas en Guatemala a la luz de mejores prácticas internacionales
Resumen
El siguiente estudio busca analizar las microfinanzas internacionales, para dar respuesta a los retos de las microfinanzas en Guatemala. A su vez, describe
el problema del crédito en el país y se caracteriza el mercado microfinanciero como estrategia para erradicar la pobreza y la generación de empleo. Se
concluye que la asistencia técnica y formación para los receptores de préstamos es un potenciador para la efectividad de los programas de microfinanzas.
Además, tomando en consideración que aún existe a nivel mundial un debate sobre si las microfinancieras generan desarrollo o no, se ve la necesidad de
hacer más estudios de impacto en instituciones de microfinanzas (IMF), para garantizar la efectividad de los programas y la buena utilización de las ayudas que reciben de la cooperación internacional y nacional.
